Sri Lanka Weather
The climate in Sri Lanka is good pretty much all year round. Sri Lanka has a tropical climate, where the temperature doesn't fluctuate much between winter and summer, averaging around 30ºC during the day and 27ºC at night.
Sri Lanka does see a lot of rain, most of the year, but it does dry up very quickly. Dry months are generally January and July.
Expect about 8 hours sunshine during January to March and about 3 hrs in July.
If you're visiting Seychelles for surfing or windsurfing then May to September is the best time to go, diving is great all year but the best visibility is in April and October, and Turtle egg-laying season is from October to February, with eggs hatching in around two months.

Wildlife
Sri Lanka Asian elephants, sloth bear, leopards, sambar and wild buffaloes engages the majority of the attention of wildlife enthusiast. The rarest mammals of Sri Lanka are the red slender Loris, Toque Macaque, and Purple-faced Langur.
Sri Lanka has two species of crocodiles. One is the Mugger or Marsh crocodile. The other is the Saltwater or Estuarine crocodile.
Twitchers are spoiled for choice with over 233 native bird species and many more visitors.
Yala National Park
This elephant reserve is also known as Ruhuna National Park. Spot buffalo, deer, wild boar, even leopard; and birdlife including peacocks, pelicans, storks and spoonbills.
Kandy
Spread around an artificial lake, Kandy is home to the Temple of the Tooth, where the famous Buddha’s tooth is kept.
Peradeniya Botanical Garden
This 150-acre garden boasts tamarind, magnolia, jasmine and orchid trees, as well as an orchid house and spice groves.
Nuwara Eliya
This hill station is home to a British colonial church, post office, houses, gardens and country club – plus an 18-hole golf course. It’s surrounded by tea plantations.

Sri Lanka cuisine is influenced by Creole, West Indian and French food; popular local dishes include a pepper pot stew, callaloo soup (a leaf vegetable similar to spinach) and fried codfish. St. Lucia's national dish is green figs and salt fish.
