Flights from Newcastle Airport - Destinations
Newcastle Airport has good links with the larger European airports, courtesy of airlines such as KLM (Amsterdam), Air France (Paris), and SN Brussels (Brussels).
Newcastle is now an established base for both Easyjet and Jet2, with Jet2holidays now offering flight and hotel "package holidays" to over destinations including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Murcia (Costa Calida), Majorca, Menorca.
Additionally, Newcastle's links with Norway have more recently been boosted by flights to Oslo Torp (Ryanair) and Bergen (Jet2). Newcastle has fewer links with major German business cities, but Lufthansa's link with Düsseldorf (operated by Eurowings) has at least now being augmented by flights to Berlin (Easyjet) and Hannover (HLX).
In 2007 Emirates Airlines opened up a new Newcastle to Dubai route.
Using Dubai as a hub, it is now possible to fly from Newcastle Airport to most Destinations in the Far East, Africa, India and Australia, without going near London
There are currently no flights to Poland from either Newcastle or Durham Tees Valley - a gap in the market we expect to see exploited before too long.
Other operators offering charter flights from Newcastle Airport include Thomson Fly, to a wide choice of destinations, including popular holiday hot spots in the Canaries, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Malta, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Africa, Cancun (Mexico), Florida (Sandford) and Dominican Republic.
Newcastle Airport Destination Guides
Newcastle – great for shopping, leisure, nightlife and culture
Newcastle Upon Tyne is a very popular weekend and short break destination. A city of regeneration, with a buzzing, lively atmosphere Newcastle is already well-known for some of the best nightlife and bar culture in the UK. The waterfront and Quayside area provides a stylish destination to begin your trip, with a great collection of bars and restaurants. From here you can also view the impressive Gateshead Millennium Bridge, linking the North bank (Newcastle) to the South bank (Gateshead) of the Tyne.
For culture make sure you visit the Balticmill, having opened in 2002 this museum of modern art is part of the cultural regeneration for the Gateshead Quays. The Hancock museum (City Centre) is a natural history museum worth a visit, with exhibits for all ages. Further a-field the Angel of The North welcomes travellers to the region, this impressive structure (54m high) can only be truly appreciated on-site!
Shopping is also a popular past time with the Metro Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in Europe, and Eldon Square Shopping Centre plus a large selection of high-street, independent and boutique shopping in the city centre.
Newcastle airport also provides an excellent base to explore the North East of England and the Scottish Borders, with the beautiful coastline of Northumberland and the Kielder Forest within easy reach.
